So I sucked it up and determined to make the best of a bad situation.
How a Pair of Boots Upended my Apple-cart!
Picture this…
My wife’s birthday was coming up and I knew she’d fallen in love with a pair of boots at the mall.
The thing is, those boots cost $300… and I knew I couldn’t afford to buy them for her.
Still, I thought maybe there IS a way of juggling things so I could surprise her. I was checking my bank account to see if there was some way of making it happen when I felt the bottom drop out of my world…
My meagre paycheck had bounced!
I had just spent 3 years of blood, sweat and toil, and lumbered myself with a MASSIVE student debt to become an attorney…
…and now I couldn’t even pay the bills, let alone buy my wife that stinking pair of boots!
How was that even possible?!
Right then and there I decided to start my own practice,
even if it killed me.
Anything had to be better than where I was!
But where to start? What to do? Who to turn to for advice?
Hell, I’d didn’t even know how to practice law!
I took a deep breath and jumped…
Well, to cut a long story short, I brought in over $186K that first year alone, and never looked back (more on that later).

Prior to law school, for almost 20 years I was a professional magician!

Just shy of a year (and one crappy job) after graduating “summa cum laude” from Nashville School of Law, I hung out my own shingle…
Over the next 12 months, I brought in over $186K in revenue. And the next few years, I pretty much doubled my revenue year after year. In 2016 I partnered with a long-standing local lawyer who was ready to retire. By 2018 I had been recognized as a ‘Rising Star’ by SuperLawyers. And last year I brought in over a million dollars in revenue working just 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
I hate to sound like I’m bragging (it’s really not my style), but at the same time I AM proud and grateful for my success, and the things I’ve been able to do in my life as a result, like:
2016 build our dream home in Tennessee overlooking the mountains
2018 buy a second home in Florida just a hop, skip and a jump from Disney World (where my lovely wife, Zena, and I can be regularly found having a blast)
Take one week’s vacation every quarter, PLUS take all of December off each year
